Homeboy Sandman - “The Good Sun” must be one of the best hiphop releases in 2010, and definitely one of the most interesting newcomers. Now he’s signed onto the Stones Throw label and has just released his second EP there. I’m kinda hoping for a Madlib joint coming somewhere up ahead. Madhomeboy, anyone?

I watched Frantic (1988) the other night, not a masterpiece but very good nonetheless. What struck me the most however was how beautiful & genuinely sexy Emmanuelle Seigner is in it (watch this awkward, yet hot dance scene to kind of see what I’m talking about). No wonder that little midget Roman Polanski has been banging her for the last 20+ years. Another Polanski film starring Seigner in a mesmerizing role is of course The Ninth Gate, one of my favorite flicks of all time!

The liberation of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s FBI files had me excited. While it was known Dirt McGirt was usually up to no good, I had no idea he had this many crimes to his name. Included on the list are a number of links to homicides and drug crimes, as well as other mentions of the Wu-Tang Clan and their dealings. My favorite quote has to be on page 40, “Found in possession of large bags full of paper currency”. Damn, Big Baby Jesus, we miss you and all your antics! The full FBI files can be found here.

I saw this spanish sci-fi/thriller called Timecrimes and ..wow it just blew my mind. It’s about this man who accidentally gets into a time machine and travels back in time an hour. It’s reminiscent of Christopher Smith’s Triangle from 2009, but a lot better. Do yourself a favor and see this flick! Oh, and do not watch the trailer or you will spoil most of the movie.

God I love Blade Runner, definitely in my top 10. It just got better and better with each version and the final cut is truly a masterpiece! I hope the sequel doesn’t turn out like shit, but it probably will.
